In memory of Selamba, the black cat

There was a frequent intruder into my female staff quarters in Sg. Siput: a black stray cat. For this, I named her “Selamba”.

I can’t help but to relate this cat to the “jelmaan jin” story a Malay friend once told me.

For the following reasons, I suspect the cat is actually some kind of spirit in a cat’s form:-

    1) This is the first cat that I have ever encountered which does not like people to caress her!

I risked my life for recording this as an evidence that she does not like people to caress her!

    2) She has noted fondness for soft surfaces as her sleeping/lying spots, e.g. my housemate’s bed, on the carpet & sofa.

    3) She watches TV!

    4) She never meows!

    5) If I stare at her, she stares back!

    6) There was 1 time, I caressed her -> she scratched me -> I knocked her head -> she then meticulously planned a ruse to take revenge on me by hiding herself below the starting step of the staircase patiently.  Once my left foot landed on the lower ground, she dashed towards my foot and bit on me!

Due to the hygienic issue induced by this eerie but cute cat (sitting on the dining table, vomiting in the house, licking on my housemates’ food & etc), 1 of my housemates has caught her and dumped her somewhere away from our quarters…

I kinda miss her you know? Sad

    I’m traumatized…

After my 3rd surgical experience - to remove my …..

    Wisdom tooth!

“Wreckage” of my tooth! At first I thought I would have a tooth in one piece as collection… The dentist has to cut my tooth into pieces in order to extract it

    My orthopantomogram (OPG)

I have 2 impacted wisdom teeth (1 on lower left & 1 on lower right) which on and off cause swelling and redness of the gum around the teeth. After all the endurance, it was until 2 weeks ago that I was determined to have an once and for all extraction for the one on the lower left because it triggered an infection around the gum and also slight swelling along my jaw line and I suffered fever for this.

A dentist from a private dental clinic once quoted me RM500 for the extraction of my wisdom tooth. This’s gonna cost me a small bomb! This dearly priced service has then rendered me to opt for government dental clinic in Kuala Kangsar.

My surgical appointment was on today. “This is a tough one…” the dentist told me so after glancing through my OPG.

The extraction took 1 hour. Post-extraction, the dentist commented the following:-

“This is the longest surgery I have ever had and your tooth is really big!”

    A chip of my tooth

To me, it’s disgusting to gulp down my own blood, so I chose to spit the blood together with my saliva into a plastic bag along my 3-hour drive back to KL.

    Not Ribena!

It is now 9 hours after the surgery but blood is still oozing out of the wound… Sick
